Lenght : 150 cm.

Biotope : we have picked up them on open fields, "pastizales", and rocky cliffs ("serros") on Sierra de la Ventana, Argentina.

Behaviour: they hides under rocks and dead trees. We have found them many times on rocks, taking sun baths ("asolandose"). Its an agressive specie that will try to bite you the moment you try to catch it. Although they prefer to flee than fight.

Feeding: frogs, little lizards, colubrids (even smaller P. patagoniensis), rats and spiders (migalomorphs, like Tarantulas)

Reproduction: The males are mature as of the end of their first year for a size of 50 cm, whereas the females reach their maturity for a size of at least 75cm. The females lay approximately from 10 to 15 eggs in novemeber and december. The young are born from January to march (the young snakes have a size of 20cm). With 30°C, the incubation lasts 57 days.
